So many girls dream of being as tall and thin as catwalk models.
They admire them, envy them, think that nature favored them with such figures absolutely undeserved.
Probably girls of this shape really look well but in many cases they have to work hard to have the body that is a dream of millions.
And skinny girls know for sure that not all garments look well on them and they must choose carefully to avoid too long and lean look.
For the girls who are the type described these tips maybe helpful in the process of selecting clothes.
Things to remember:
- Dress in layers, they add interest and disguise thinness.
- Avoid wearing bare, short and clinging clothes.
- Create the illusion of fullness and softness. In summer when your thinness is the most seen wear soft, fluffy fabrics.
By now, scarves have moved from trendy to a new staple. Unlike larger wardrobe pieces, scarves are very affordable (depending on where you buy them), and a great way to give an old outfit a new kick. There are many ways to wear a scarf, but the cowl scarf is the perfect neck accessory for those of you who can't be bothered to knot one around your neck. Simply slip this easy scarf around your neck, or wear it pulled over your hair to make any top an instant hoodie.
The cowl scarf was referred to as a "mini trend" on Punky Style, who provided several Etsy links for oversized cowl scarves (Knits shown above from rachel fixed), and I can't wait to snuggle into one of these whether running errands on a cold day or cozied up on my couch. Let's face it; hoodies are rarely stylish, and a cowl scarf can be paired with a tailored blazer or cute bomber jacket, wrapped around your head on a rainy day. Or just slip on with your comfiest top for a little comfort without the fuss of a turtleneck.
Urban Outfitters and Free People sell cowl scarves with drawstrings. The Fair Isle Cowl from UO sells for $38 while the Crosstown Cable Hood ($48) has fuzzy poms and doubles as a hood.
This Dena Fur Rabbit Fur Cowl Collar is gorgeous, but as the owner of two pet chinchillas, it makes me wanna go PETA on someone. I'll be on the lookout for a fake fur version of this look to satisfy my current fur obsession.

Funny how society forces us to crave that 6 foot tall, skinny model body. For a very long time, I had also been a victim of that dream. As long as I can remember myself, I have been fascinated by the fashion world, so when I was young I only thought it was natural for me to become a model once I was tall enough.
Except that the time never came. I stopped growing at 5’5 and that was the end of that dream. At the time I was devastated, but now I understand that there is a reason behind everything. I have a different path in this life and the body that I have has been specifically designed for the life and experiences that I am living.
Many women are wrongfully convinced that their bodies are flawed in one way or another. They say: I’m too fat, too short, too skinny, I hate my ankles, my chest is too big, so I have to hide it, or it’s too small so I refuse to wear a bathing suit and the list goes on. Dress your body

She’s been working so hard on her new line of clothing, and yesterday (September 19) Paris Hilton was spotted debuting her wares over in Milan, Italy.
The “Hottie and the Nottie” babe showed up at COIN for the European launch of her clothing line, sporting a black halter-style dress with matching black high heels, as well as a classic jeans and t-shirt ensemble.
As for the recent reports that Miss Hilton has lost two of her dogs to a coyote attack, her people are saying it isn’t so. Previous internet rumors began to circulate, claiming that two of Paris’ seventeen dogs had been snatched up by a wild animal.
Her rep told press, “They were at Paris’s house Wednesday in her recording studio, and all the dogs were playing and looked as healthy and happy as can be. Paris even had a doggie mansion built for them and it is very secured.”
Less than two months after Yves St. Laurent’s passing, the legendary auction house, Christie’s, has announced that they will be auctioning Monsieur St. Laurent’s extensive art collection this coming February. The collection belonged not only to the designer, but also his longtime love, Pierre Berge. Although no artists have been named yet, it is believed that the collection includes Picasso, Matisse, Goya, and Warhol among many other notables. Can’t wait to see who walks away with what!

The classic film, The Wizard of Oz, is celebrating its seventieth birthday this year and Warner Bros. has teamed up with Swarovski to commission twenty lucky designers to recreate Dorothy’s iconic ruby slippers. The shoes will be auctioned off sometime in 2009 to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, but before that they will make appearances at New York Fashion Week, Art Basel in Miami, and various other locations. Check out two sketches from Betsey Johnson and Jimmy Choo (above). Who says red shoes are tacky, now?
Jennifer Aniston has a bit of a history for digging out lesser known denim brands. In the past she was photographed wearing Generra Jeans and recently she has been snapped wearing Degaine Jeans (see above). She is obviously more concerned with how the jeans fit rather than just being seen wearing a flavour of the month brand.
I don’t know about you, but I think it’s a great photo and it almost makes me forget the Gisele cover-disaster. Viktor and Rolf collection has found a brilliant way to integrate in reality through Naomi.
If it wasn’t for the Sorrenti photographic genius, this picture would’ve been completely grey-ish and that’s it. But that sky behind, those buildings and especially Naomi’s posing (I don’t discredit the coat, by all means, it’s at least half of the picture’s value!) make it almost a novel, not an image. Can you read the story between those pixels?

I know I'm practically shoving the Marc Jacobs BB bag
to your face but please allow me to do so before Fall 2008 fades into
oblivion. We all know the Spring 2009 shows are just around the corner
and I want this good feeling to last! One of my readers (thanks
Regina!) sent me scans of the August 2008 issue of Nylon magazine and
lookie lookie at what she found. It's the Marc Jacobs Sunburst BB bag
in baby blue!
Isn't it gorgeous? Marc Jacobs BB bag, US$1295 @ Marc Jacobs. It comes in different colors. I'm telling you... it's the bag of the season! I want YOU, yes, YOU to get one as well!
Meanwhile, Cole Mohr may rock those Fall/Winter 2008 Marc by Marc Jacobs frocks but for me, I'm happy with this US$68 (3,000 pesoses) runway "Off The Deep End" top. They're now available at Shopbop where shipping within the USA is free and yes, they also ship internationally, too! I went to the Marc by Marc Jacobs store here in Manila and they're still carrying Spring 2008 merchandise (some are still at full-retail while others are on 20% sale). Go go go buy buy buy!
For anyone with the slightest love of retro, mod or old Hollywood glamour, Unique-Vintage is a great source of vintage-inspired fabulousness like this adorable black & white floral frock from Italy. From pin-up wiggle dresses, to 50s sundresses, to groovy print tunics, they have a fab selection of really well-priced pieces you won't find in box stores and mass retailers.
