They can take their pick from the world's smartest beauty counters and shop at the most exclusive boutiques, but what do celebrities really have in their make-up bags and bathroom cabinets? Mario Badescu Almond & Honey Face Scrub, is adored by Helena Christensen, the supermodel and photographer, as much for its gorgeous smell as for its face-freshening effect. 'It smells like marzipan,' says Christensen. 'And gives my skin a clean, velvety feeling.'
Along with her platinum-blond hair, Gwen Stefani's trademark is her glossy lips. Her gloss of choice? Urban Decay XXX Shine Lip Gloss, an über-shiny syrup that comes in a myriad of lip-plumping shades. Go for Betsey, a toffee-apple red, as worn on the catwalk at Betsey Johnson, Naked, a gorgeous pinky nude, or Stefani's favourite, Ozone, the perfect crystal-clear top coat.
It's also a firm favourite with the model Daisy Lowe: 'Blinc Mascara s my newest beauty discovery. You can literally sleep in it and it won't smudge.'
Originally created to make racehorses' legs look glossy and allegedly used by the SAS to protect their skin, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, is the stuff of beauty legends. Gwen Stefani has revealed she dreams of having her own beauty line one day. The singer, who is due to release her perfume range Harajuku Lovers this autumn wants to expand further into the cosmetic market, reported FemaleFirst recently. The singer said:
I would love to have a full L.A.M.B. beauty line one day. It makes sense. I’ve always loved doing my hair and makeup and getting all dressed up. When I have a party or an event to go to, getting ready is just as much fun as actually going out.”
As for her perfume line, I can say that Harajuku Lovers is to be made up of five different fragrances based on Gwen and her four dancers Love, Angel, Music and Baby.
“I didn’t think this project would actually come to life,” Stefani added. Gwen confessed she was delighted to find out she had a chance to do five different fragrances for Harajuku Lovers.
It really had to be five, because that’s what the world is.”
Sounds profound and philosophic.
“Each girl has her own personality and sense of style. We’re all saying something different with unique personalities,” Gwen concluded, according to the source.
We’re looking forward for your perfume, Gwen. Sure it’ll be better than Britney’s.
