These Manolo Blahnik's for Christopher Kane are beyond fabulous.
Proving that denim transcends all aspects of fashion these shoes could in fact become my everyday shoe. Done any differently this might not of worked but the absolute genius of Mr. Blahnik and the hipness of Kane together is absolute perfection. I'll take mine in a size 8!

I like green color!
With its 4.5" heel, fabric upper, and peep-toe covered in bow, the Pegeen in bright green is just wonderful.
Equally fabulous in scarlet, you might want to check that same shoe dictionary to see if this shoe isn't also listed under the word "flirty."
Now here is a shoe that's too cute to resist: the latest offering from Vivienne Westwood for Melissa, called 'Lady Dragon'. Much like the Vivienne Westwood for Melissa t-bars we've written about in the past, the Lady Dragon shoe is cute, colourful and even comfortable.
This style is available in four adorable colour combinations; salmon with a black heart, lemon with a black heart, baby blue with a red heart, or pearl with a red heart. Choosing between them is the only issue, but then again being unable to decide is sort of a good excuse to buy more than one pair!

With the advent of winter, everyone has started feeling the chills. It's time to bring back the fur in your attire. Designer Tom Ford certainly thinks so and this is obvious with his new winter collection of natural fur boots which is absolutely gorgeous. The collection is devastatingly stylish. It includes 3 pairs of boots and a hat. As you might imagine the price is sky high, but it's all in the name of fashion.
The silver and tan natural fur boots come for $5.250, the chocolate brown fur boots for kids will cost $4.470 and both these pairs have rawhide leather laces. The cream of the collection is the natural brown otter fur boots pair and the more refined appearance that it comes with costs about $9,240. There is also a white trapper-style hat is in white badger fur that has a price tag of $4,510. You know they are ultra elite because apart from being made in Italy, Ford says, True luxury is found in clothing that has been shaped and honed by the human hand.”
Ford also has a suggestion for where you can wear his collection. He
says, “They’re perfect for a weekend in Gstaad or St Moritz - and those
are the kinds of weekends our customers have.”
The only false step was with the teetering, multi-coloured python-skin shoes,
which caused two models to trip and the rest to hobble and wobble their
way around a catwalk which snaked past a series of circular wooden
bleachers where the audience perched.
Milan Fashion Week Spring 2009 is providing us with some more interesting shoes.
Shoes are contemporary jewelry, designer Donatella Versace once said, and in recent years they have become an integral part of a designer’s fashion statement.
While Salvatore Ferragamo invented the wedge, it was Dolce & Gabbana that did the most with the form this season. But Fendi, Marni, Moschino and Frankie Morello were nipping at their heels.
Sole Brother Customs has always been good at turning a client’s
hobbies and past times into interesting custom sneakers. Sole Brother
turned a pair of Adidas Stan Smith 2s into an homage to paintballing
for one of his patrons.
The designer started with some orange and yellow paint spots to show the messy results of a day’s worth of paintballing. The paint marks may be placed haphazardly on the heel and middle panel but Sole Brother shaped each spot to show the shooter’s angle. This attention to detail is extended to the cartoon version of the patron pictured on the outside of the left shoe. This cartoon paintballer is seen firing off a series of orange pellets with a look of total glee on his face.
Sole Brother finished off these customs with some lettering including the initials “BJ” and the word “Smikles” based on the customer’s request. These shoes were a birthday gift for the patron and I am sure that he was pleased with the results. I hope that he doesn’t take the “Paintballers” out to the paintball range; these shoes are best served on the streets away from splattered paint.
NEW YORK -- It's been 70 years since Judy Garland first clicked her ruby slippers in "The Wizard of Oz," yet even the well-heeled celebrities who inhabit the wonderful land of Hollywood still find the shoes a thing of beauty.
Actress Lorraine Bracco gabbed about her love for the classic movie - and a good pair of red heels - on Thursday night at a New York Fashion Week kickoff party held in Saks Fifth Avenue, which unveiled a new collection of Dorothy-inspired designer heels.
"I own several red shoes, so if you want to consider them slippers that's fine, but I have many of Manolo Blahnik red shoes!" the "Sopranos" star said, laughing heartily.
Which "Wizard of Oz" character would Bracco like to portray?
"My first instinct is to say Toto, but since I got bit by a dog this weekend, I'm not gonna say Toto!" she said, pointing at cuts on her finger.
Instead, she said she'd go with Dorothy "because she goes through this unbelievable journey ...only to come full circle around to realize home is good, family is good."
Lindsay Price, who co-stars with Brooke Shields on NBC's "Lipstick Jungle," said she has a soft spot for the Cowardly Lion, but she'd rather fill Dorothy's shoes.
"She gets the full journey, she learns the lessons - she wears the shoes," said Price, wearing platform gold heels and a black Prada dress.
Price said she's also a fan of the gingham pattern on Dorothy's blue-and-white frock - and the scene in which the pig-tailed songbird finally returns home to Kansas.
Nigel Barker, who judges alongside Tyra Banks on the CW's "America's Next Top Model," wasn't equipped with a response to the question of "Who's scarier: Tyra or the Wicked Witch of the West?"
"Do I really need to answer that?" he said, smiling.
Less than two months after Yves St. Laurent’s passing, the legendary auction house, Christie’s, has announced that they will be auctioning Monsieur St. Laurent’s extensive art collection this coming February. The collection belonged not only to the designer, but also his longtime love, Pierre Berge. Although no artists have been named yet, it is believed that the collection includes Picasso, Matisse, Goya, and Warhol among many other notables. Can’t wait to see who walks away with what!

The classic film, The Wizard of Oz, is celebrating its seventieth birthday this year and Warner Bros. has teamed up with Swarovski to commission twenty lucky designers to recreate Dorothy’s iconic ruby slippers. The shoes will be auctioned off sometime in 2009 to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, but before that they will make appearances at New York Fashion Week, Art Basel in Miami, and various other locations. Check out two sketches from Betsey Johnson and Jimmy Choo (above). Who says red shoes are tacky, now?
