So many girls dream of being as tall and thin as catwalk models.
They admire them, envy them, think that nature favored them with such figures absolutely undeserved.
Probably girls of this shape really look well but in many cases they have to work hard to have the body that is a dream of millions.
And skinny girls know for sure that not all garments look well on them and they must choose carefully to avoid too long and lean look.
For the girls who are the type described these tips maybe helpful in the process of selecting clothes.
Things to remember:
- Dress in layers, they add interest and disguise thinness.
- Avoid wearing bare, short and clinging clothes.
- Create the illusion of fullness and softness. In summer when your thinness is the most seen wear soft, fluffy fabrics.
Funny how society forces us to crave that 6 foot tall, skinny model body. For a very long time, I had also been a victim of that dream. As long as I can remember myself, I have been fascinated by the fashion world, so when I was young I only thought it was natural for me to become a model once I was tall enough.
Except that the time never came. I stopped growing at 5’5 and that was the end of that dream. At the time I was devastated, but now I understand that there is a reason behind everything. I have a different path in this life and the body that I have has been specifically designed for the life and experiences that I am living.
Many women are wrongfully convinced that their bodies are flawed in one way or another. They say: I’m too fat, too short, too skinny, I hate my ankles, my chest is too big, so I have to hide it, or it’s too small so I refuse to wear a bathing suit and the list goes on. Dress your body

Every great outfit needs accessories, and what is a better accessory than a fabulous hat? We collected some of the finest-looking, most interesting head decorations we liked during the past Fashion Weeks:
Nutty, playful and exceptional combinations of fabrics, colors & shapes with Lurex and sheer chiffon fused into the whole mix. Turning boudoir and underwear slips into wearable cute dresses, along with wacky shoes, chunky jewelry and tremendous oversized extreme chiffon bows tied up to portrait as marvelous hats, proving yet again Marc Jacobs nonchalant talent to provide elegance with a cool twist.
Tribal, animal-like headpieces matching Vivienne Westwood's collection of eye-catching mess on the runway, in general the looks had a hasty feeling, all thrown together without care to join the latest protest, but as Vivienne Westwood herself called it "An imaginary sex-filled marriage between Marilyn Monroe and a British lord imprisoned without trial by the British government"…
Korean designer Lie Sang Bong
is distinctive with his clean and thematic shows. His Spring/Summer '08
collection had a futuristic alien-like feel to it, with fresh,
geometric prints and unique cuts accompanied with peculiar plastic
cocoon-shaped headwear to complete the space-invader total look.
Christian Dior
The amazing Visual feast created by mastermind John Galliano, for his 10th anniversary as Christian Dior's creative director, praised some of the world's most celebrated painters through each of the 45 metaphorical elaborate & far-fetched gowns worn by a mixture of past & present supermodels. Masterpiece jewelry, rich silks, puffed tulles, enormous flowers & crystals & exquisite gigantic hats.
Michael Kors
The Kors woman - sun-kissed, classic, building herself a smart spring wardrobe, looking as if stepping out from a seventies-sixties ad, the "His & Hers" tennis whites, the ice-cream tones, the bright yellow and this huge beach hat to add some more elegance & class to your chic bathing suit.

Gwen Stefani has revealed she dreams of having her own beauty line one day. The singer, who is due to release her perfume range Harajuku Lovers this autumn wants to expand further into the cosmetic market, reported FemaleFirst recently. The singer said:
I would love to have a full L.A.M.B. beauty line one day. It makes sense. I’ve always loved doing my hair and makeup and getting all dressed up. When I have a party or an event to go to, getting ready is just as much fun as actually going out.”
As for her perfume line, I can say that Harajuku Lovers is to be made up of five different fragrances based on Gwen and her four dancers Love, Angel, Music and Baby.
“I didn’t think this project would actually come to life,” Stefani added. Gwen confessed she was delighted to find out she had a chance to do five different fragrances for Harajuku Lovers.
It really had to be five, because that’s what the world is.”
Sounds profound and philosophic.
“Each girl has her own personality and sense of style. We’re all saying something different with unique personalities,” Gwen concluded, according to the source.
We’re looking forward for your perfume, Gwen. Sure it’ll be better than Britney’s.
Buying women's perfume can be confusing when there are so many different options out there. If you are overwhelmed by the available choices, a good way to pick womens perfume is to select a fragrance family that matches your personality.
Most women's perfumes fit into one of six fragrance families: fresh, fruity, floral, foody, oriental, or woody (also known as chypre). There are also subcategories within each of the main categories, but the differences among them are slight, so beginners shouldn't concern themselves with them.
Fresh fragrances are clean, youthful, and energetic. They feature marine notes intended to simulate the smell of the ocean, or other water-based scents. They frequently have the words "water","ice","rain" or "cool" in their name and are often colored blue or packaged in blue bottles. This fragrance family is ideal for sporty, active women. Some popular fresh designer fragrances are Issey Miyake L'Eau de Issey, Bulgari Blu Notte, Marc Jacobs Rain, Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio, and Davidoff Cool Water.
Fruity fragrances are similar to fresh fragrances in their casual vibe and energy, but they also add sweetness to the mix. Most fruity fragrances have citrus notes such as lemon, lime, orange or grapefruit, although apple, grape, cherry, peach and raspberry are also popular choices for fruity women's perfume. Women who love fruity fragrances are usually outgoing optimists. Some of the most popular fruity fragrances on the market today are Fresh Sugar, Acqua di Parma Colonia, L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani, and Cartier Eau de Cartier.
Floral fragrances are self-explanatory; one or more flowers are the dominant notes in these women's perfumes, with rose, jasmine, gardenia, and tuberose being the most popular. Floral fragrances are favored by feminine and romantic women. Floral fragrances are the most popular fragrance category, and Dior J'Adore, Stella McCartney Stella, Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll and Salvatore Ferragamo Incanto Charms are just some of the many floral perfumes popular today.
Foody fragrances, also known as gourmand fragrances, are a relatively new category and are designed to appeal to a woman's (or her man's) sweet tooth; most of them feature chocolate or vanilla as the dominant note. Foody fragrances appeal to women who are nurturing and affectionate. Some currently popular foody fragrances are Aquolina Chocolovers, Thierry Mugler Angel, Britney Spears Fantasy, and Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot.
Oriental fragrances have warm, spicy top notes such as cinnamon, amber and musk. This type of women's perfume is favored by sophisticates with a sense of drama who are not afraid to be the center of attention. Some well-known classic oriental fragrances are Yves Saint Laurent Opium, Guerlain Shalimar and Calvin Klein Obsession.
Woody or chypre perfumes are spicy like orientals, but more mellow and natural. They feature wood and moss notes such as cedar, sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver, and are the most unisex of the six fragrance families. Women who prefer woody scents are likely to be free-spirited and earthy. Some currently popular woody fragrances are Gucci Rush, Fendi Palazzo and Miss Boucheron.
Dresses
Reality: You can give current trends a nod by opting for great prints and updated touches (like a wide belt). Not all dresses are created equal, so find a dress that works for your body type.
Sporty
Reality: Shorts lose their "for tourists only" status and make a comeback in both short and longer lengths.
Longer-length shorts -- a.k.a. bermudas, walking shorts,
skimmers -- look best in a slim cut (beware cuffs: they add weight).
Anything too full and knee-length will add lots of heft around the
hips, where most women can least afford it. With a matching jacket, the
bermuda short can go to to work.
Make sure you don't ruin the casual-dress vibe of shorts with a
shoe that's too dainty or dressy: a chunky platform, ballerina flat or
simple thong sandal works better than a stiletto.
Brights
Reality:You're better off choosing a bright that flatters
your coloring (blues and pinks are often easiest) than just choosing
what's hot (like bright yellow).
Don't be tempted to mix the brights with black (too '80s). Pair with white, denim or other brights for the freshest look.
Reality: Ethnic prints are a classic, but that doesn't mean just anyone can wear them. First, you'll need to scale the size of the print to your body type (larger prints for larger or taller women, and vice versa).
Fun Florals
Reality: To look modern, you need to pass on the ditsy little prints and go for something bright and bold, like hot pink or bright blue; graphic black and white floral prints are great, too. Floral embellisments don't have to just be in a print; look for flower embellishment, tone-on-tone embroidery and accessories, too.
Patent
Reality: Black patent -- either in a wide belt or clutch bag -- is the easiest to wear. Bright patent pieces add plenty of pop -- orange, bright blue, red -- so pair them with something equally strong like graphic black and white outfits.
MetallicsReality: You might have metallic overdose because it's been
around for so many seasons, but this time try metallics in apparel
pieces instead of just accessories. Soft gold or silver lurex or lace
pieces have just the right touch of shine for daytime. Mix daytime
pieces with white for a fresh, warm-weather look. For after-five, the
more subdued metallics work, but you can also up the gleam factor with
big gold and silver spangles and beaded short dresses.
Boho Chic
Runway: Crazy prints and knee-high boots create a luxe hippie chick look.
Reality: Add a touch of boho with easy separates. A peasant blouse like this one from Lucky Brand or a sweeping skirt add a carefree vibe.
A Hemline for Everyone
Reality: While the extremes look theatrical, most women look best in a hemline that falls around the knee (above, at or below) or mid-calf.
Wide-Leg Pants
Runway: Wide-leg pants rule the runway.
Reality: Wide doesn't have to mean bulky. Look for softer wide -leg pants, or go with bootcut pants for a hint of width at the hem.
